Hey there, Beauties! I hope all of you are having a BLESSED week and really keeping the good vibes in the air! I must say, this week definitely started off on the right foot 🙂 Anywhooo…I wanted to share with you all a few products that keep my skin clear, clean, and bright.
Time and time again, I am asked… “What do you use to keep your skin so clear?” I like to think it’s GOOD genes! Haha. Both of my parents have amazing skin!! Hardly ever do they have blemishes or breakouts. Although, we are all human, so we aren’t always invincible to pesky breakouts.
With that friends, I like to keep my skincare routine super simple. I keep about 6 different products on hand, always!! Y’all are probably thinking, “SIX!? I thought you said it was simple!!” Haha. It is… TRUST ME! Also, by no means is my skin perfect, WHAT SO EVER! I do have blemish scars and uneven skin tone here and there.

So let’s get into what products have worked for me, shall we!
1. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes

$4.49
Before I used towelettes, I simply used eye makeup remover. I quickly found that these babies, work 10x better! I am sure you all already know this, though! Haha. I have tried a number of different makeup remover wipes…from off brands, to the ones you can pick up from Ross or TJ Maxx. Although, none of them have worked like the Neutrogena brand! The other brands were simply too rough for my face and did not remove my makeup like I hoped for. So I keep these stocked, always!
2. St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub

$3.87
I have used the St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub for almost 6 years, at least! I love love love this face wash and truly swear by it. By no means will it work for everyone though, because it is a little harsh if you have sensitive skin. It is very grainy, which I love because I seek that deep exfoliation! I workout/run about 6 times a week so my face is always taking on a lot of sweat. Mix that in with makeup and my skin takes on a lot! I feel like this scrub really cleanses my pores of all the impurities that makeup or dirt from the air might leave behind.
3. St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub

$3.63
On the other hand, when I don’t want so much of a deep clean but a clean nonetheless… I use the St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub. This scrub is still grainy but very gentle at the same time. The green tea formula really allows for a calming clean. Oh, and it smells, AMAZING 🙂
I am no dermatologist or skin expert but the main difference between these two products, in my opinion, is the amount of salicylic acid. The St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub has 2% whereas the St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub has 1%. From what I have learned the salicylic acid is what fights blemishes. Therefore the more there is in a product the more flight that scrub will put up against ache… also the harsher it might be on your skin, causing unwanted irritation. Just a little FYI. I came across the article, “Here’s Exactly What Salicylic Acid Does to Your Skin,” if y’all want better insight!
4. Philosophy Renewed Hope in A Jar Moisturizer

$14.00
I have talked about the Philosophy Renewed Hope in A Jar Moisturizer before.. and yes, I still LOVE it! Although, it is a bit pricey so, I don’t use this every night! It has great benefits though…from relieving dryness to helping uneven skin textures. I tend to use it more when my skin is undergoing a dry spell.
To be honest Beauties, I am a little funny with moisturizers. My skin is normal for the most part so I don’t usually spend a lot or try other brands. If I get samples, I def put them to use, but other than that, I stick to what works for me.
5. Suave Soothing with Aloe Body Lotion 32 oz
Sometimes if I moisturize too often or not often enough, it throws my skin wayyyyy off balance. Something that has worked for me, when my skin is pretty normal, is to use regular body lotion on my face. Many will say, “DON’T DO IT!”… BUT, if your skin is anything like mine, you will be just fine 🙂 I just put a light layer after my skin is clean or right after I shower. I like the Suave Soothing with Aloe Body Lotion, best! It smells amazing, very inexpensive, and moisturizes just enough!
Suave Tropical Coconut Body Lotion 10 oz

$3.69
I have also been using the Suave Tropical Coconut scent since I received it free from Influenster and Suave to try out. I usually get scents with less fragrancey smells…Since my skin is sensitive to strong scents. Although, this lotion has been working perfectly for my skin. Not to mention, the coconut scent is perfect for those summery vibes. Haha.
6. Freeman Detoxifying Charcoal + Black Sugar Mud Mask

$1.34
If you watch my Insta Story then you clearly see me raving about Freeman Beauty Products, always! Freeman makes the best affordable cleansing masks, hands down, in my opinion! I have tried a number of their mask and they have all been super beneficial to my overall skin health.
Earlier this week I was about to cry, y’all! I had just arrived back in Austin from a 5 day trip to my parents and my skin was feeling soooooooo CRAPPY! I had minor breakouts but overall my skin just felt gross. It was like alllll the bad food from the weekend was seeping out of my pores!! Haha. So of course, it was mask time!! I used the Detoxifying Charcoal + Black Sugar Mud Mask and woahhhh. Talk about deep cleaning. As it dried, It was super tight! Which honestly, scared me a bit. LOL. Once I washed it off, I felt like a whole new woman! Not to mention, when I woke up after a night of sleep (I did this mask before bed) my skin truly felt cleansed and soft. I still had a few blemishes but for the most part… most of them subsided. For the price, you should really pick one up from your local Walmart!
I hope my insight was beneficial to all you Beauties! Again, my opinions are all my own and this is just what works for me. If you have any questions about any of these products, comment down below! ❤
